PARKING: Free parking in the street. The house does NOT have a dedicated parking.
- City permit parking needed to park more than 1 hour during weekdays, from 9am-5pm. Only resident can have a permit parking so you need to move your car every hour to avoid a ticket. No permit parking needed at night (5pm to 9am) or during weekends.
- No permit parking needed 4 blocks away from house (you can park for free for up to a week). Details as to available locations are in the Welcome Book.
- Street cleaning at 8am Monday, Wednesday & Friday on the side of my home. On Tuesday & Thursday at 6am, on the opposite side of the house. Your car needs to be moved for 30min during those street cleaning times to avoid a ticket.
- As all big cities, parking is difficult in SF and I do not recommend having a car for your whole stay. If you do, be ready to turn around to find a spot and to have to move your car regularly.

THE WONDERS OF SAN FRANCISCO: San Francisco checks so many boxes on the urban amenities spreadsheet that it boasts the highest overall quality of life of any major American city. There’s great natural beauty, a moderate climate, plenty of Silicon Valley– fueled jobs, a rich cultural scene, the best burritos in the world, more artisanal rye whiskey than any one person can handle, and a relatively robust transportation system. When the cost savings from shorter commutes and fewer car miles are factored in to the overall cost of living, San Francisco is found to be the second-most cost-efficient major city in the nation, behind D.C.
BE AWARE: For those of you not familiar with San Francisco, please be aware that our beautiful city suffers from problems like anywhere else in the world. Here are a few tips to help you have a better experience in San Francisco.
-Homeless: San Francisco being a very liberal city, you will see homeless people in every part of San Francisco, even in the most prestigious areas such as Nob Hill or the financial district. They are usually nice, just less fortunate then we are.
-Car broken windows: You have no reason to experience any problem IF you do not let any apparent object in your car. No matter where you park your car in the city, even the most prestigious areas, do NOT let any apparent object inside (CDs, cell phone, GPS, etc…).
-Parking tickets: Like most major cities, the city of San Francisco distributes parking tickets for any slight mistakes. Do read the parking signs and put money in the meter (even on Sunday in some areas).
Do not let those unfortunate situations ruin your visit in lovely San Francisco :) It is one of the greatest cities in the world.
We are here to help you have a wonderful stay in San Francisco. Just share what you need with us :)
Full house. Garden (shared with other 2 units of condominium). Garage is off limits.
Interaction with guests
As much or little as the guests need.
Other things to note
An oasis in the city. Watch the sunset over the Mission district sitting on the deck with a glass of wine :)
This is “not” the right place for you if:
- You have difficulty climbing 10 steps staircase (from street to house)
- You have a baby. It is not childproofed
- You have a car during your whole stay (parking is difficult in SF). You can find free street parking, but it may not be easy.
